The Fractured Path retreat offers visitors a journey of discovery, reflection, and connection to nature. Designed to evoke the mystery of the unknown and the tranquility of revelation, the retreat’s fracture-like pathways serve as the heart of the experience, guiding visitors through a sequence of spaces and views.
The fractured geometry creates an interplay of concealment and gradual revelation. Initially, the pathways obscure what lies ahead, building a sense of anticipation. As visitors progress, the design slowly unveils hidden rooms and breathtaking views of the Shenandoah River.
The journey culminates on the first floor, where the pathways lead directly to the river’s edge. Here, visitors can meditate and reflect on the relief and peace found in reaching the destination after a journey of the unknown.
